A COMMUNAL intercom system was damaged at 29 Broad Street, Kirkwall, sometime overnight on Saturday, January 3-4.

ORKNEY RFC scored nine tries to defeat an under strength Ross
Sutherland side 61-12 in Saturday afternoon's Scottish Hydro Electric National Cup second round
tie in Stromness.
Any New Year hangovers or Ba' knocks were hard to spot among the Orkney
boys, though they were sometimes slow to the breakdown in the first
half against a Ross Sutherland side that had travelled with only 13
players for a tie that had twice been postponed due to weather.
Uppies do the New Years Day double

ORKNEY Rugby Club is hoping for a good attendance of spectators at this weekend's home game against Ross Sutherland on Saturday (January 3).
The kick-off is at 2pm at Stromness Academy Playing Fields.
This will be Orkney's first match for some time, as their last few fixtures have been cancelled due to the weather.
The game is in the second round of the Scottish Hydro-Electric Cup.
Enterprise office window smashed

BETWEEN the afternoon of December 27 and midday on Monday (December 29) a window was smashed at Highlands and Islands Enterprise building on Queen Street in Kirkwall.

Icy roads warning

DURING the early hours of this morning three vehicles have come off the roads in three separate incidents due to ice on the road.
Drivers are requested to be extra careful in bad weather and allow themselves plenty of time for their journeys.

Bakery window damaged

INFORMATION is being sought about damage to a window at Argo's Bakery in Stromness sometime between 7pm on Christmas Eve and 12.30pm on Boxing Day.

Barriers accident but no one hurt

A MINOR road accident involving one vehicle occurred at the first Churchill Barrier - between St Mary's and Lamb Holm - around 10.15pm on December 26.
No one was injured in the incident.
