Saltfishforty to launch already acclaimed third CD in Orkney

SALTFISHFORTY is holding a launch event next Thursday, July 29, to mark the release of the band's third album. Netherbow follows Orkney Twister (2005) and Goose Music, the band's debut album in 2003.
Stromness and Edinburgh shows for Devils

THE St Magnus Players are taking their production of The Doctor and the Devils on the road next month, for a five-day stint at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. But first, the community drama group is putting on a performance in Stromness on August 4 and the musicians who perform the live music that accompanies the play, composed especially for the show by Alasdair Nicolson, are also putting on a concert in St Magnus Cathedral on July 24.
Twelfth Day to play three gigs in Orkney

ORCADIAN fiddler Catriona Price is returning home to play three gigs with her musical partner Esther Swift next week. Twelfth Day, a Scottish fiddle, harp and vocal duo, are set to play at The Gable End Theatre, Hoy on Tuesday July 27, The Reel in Kirkwall on Wednesday and Woodwick House, Evie on Thursday.
